New ATEK Medical Web Site Showcases Company’s Manufacturing Capabilities

From conception to production, Web site demonstrates ATEK Medical’s six-phase
approach to medical device development

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. (Sept. 24, 2008) – ATEK Medical, a manufacturer of Class II and III disposable, implantable, and electro-mechanical medical devices, has redesigned its new Web site (www.atekmedical.com) to more fully represent the breadth of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and expertise. Designed as a resource for medical device companies, the new site helps companies identify and select the appropriate product lifecycle stage in which to engage ATEK Medical’s services.

“Deciding to engage a contract manufacturing partner is driven by the goals a company wants to achieve and finding the right partner isn’t always an easy decision,” said Chris Oleksy, president of ATEK Medical. “At ATEK Medical, we’re focused on helping our clients achieve their goals whether it is shortening product development cycles, overcoming capacity constraints or gaining first-to-market advantage. The redesigned ATEK Medical Web site provides organizations with details on variations in our capabilities as well as our strategic approach and philosophy.”

Addressing the variations in product development, process and cost, the Web site presents the six phases and entry points at which organizations can engage ATEK Medical’s services — from intellectual property, development, transition engineering, pilot incubation, stable manufacturing to off-shore migration.

“Having launched more than 350 unique products, we’ve developed the systems, best practice processes and expertise necessary to consistently apply the right methodologies at the right time for our clients,” Oleksy said. “Outlined on our Web site, ATEK Medical’s six phase process allows us to ensure critical-to-quality criteria are met for the products we develop and manufacture. We stand ready to assist whether that is by augmenting an organization’s internal efforts, affecting a production transfer or taking total project responsibility.”

In addition to the production services, ATEK’s capabilities support the full spectrum of activities needed to optimize the manufacturing, supply-chain management and distribution aspects for a medical device organization — from medical device development and refinement to partnering tactics, risk assessment and management of the patenting process, customer service and market analysis.

ATEK Medical’s parent company, ATEK Companies, has also redesigned its corporate site (www.atekcompanies.com) as well new Web sites for its divisions including, Larco (www.larco.com) and ATEK Plastics (www.atekplastics.com). Each site provides in-depth detail about services and capabilities, industries served, and current happenings. New sites for ATEK Manufacturing (www.atekmanufacturing.com), ATEK Products (www.atekproducts.com) and Progress Casting (www.progresscasting.com) are in progress and will be launched before the end of the year.
